Action

Action expresses priorities... Mohandas Gandhi
Food for thought.
Questions:
What influences you to act? How does attitude impact your beliefs about choice? What values are you influenced by and how do these impact your priorities, choices, actions. How do you move from feeling uncomfortable (or downright awful) to a position of positive growth?

Pleasure

Pleasure is utterly necessary and in no way a luxury. When someone comes to my psychology office for treatment of depressive symptoms, I often notice that he or she has forgotten about pleasure--how to find it, how to create it, or even how to recognize it. Yet pleasure gives us so much. It provides a break from the daily grind--a literal physiological relief from the symptoms related to stress and anxiety. Muscles relax. Tensions dissolves. Hormones that bring on rejuvenation and energy are released. Good feelings arise. Pleasure creates a sense of warmth. The saying, "take a moment to smell the roses" does have merit. I sometimes remind myself to find moments of pleasure in even the smallest of things. Do you?

Welcome!

I am new to blogging, so please excuse the mess while I get situated. :)
If you are interested in personal growth or if you are currently undergoing a transition in life, stay tuned! Soon to come will be relaxation techniques and tips, articles about times of transition, and thoughts about gifts that come with loss (did you realize this possible?!).
So come back often! I hope to see you again soon!
